JOB BRIEF: Build fly over portico roof above patio.
This was a complete and much needed make-over of an outdoor entertaining area. We replaced the lowset portico roof, fitted under house gutters, with a Fly Over Patio Roof through the existing tiled roof. Being flat and low, it trapped the westerly sun and heat making unbearable to use. In addition, we extended the roof height with a chunky 125mm x 125mm hardwood post which made the area seem bigger, and much brighter than it is. The ceiling was lined with pine VJ board and clear coated, with dimmable downlights creating a cosy family area and entertaining hub.
